Salman Relief launches drought relief project in Somaliland. - Haber Tusba

Yesterday, the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief launched an emergency intervention project to save the lives of those affected by drought in Somaliland in the presence of Yusuf Hassan Ismail, Director General of the Ministry of Water Resources in the Government of Somaliland, Director General. Representative of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in the Government of Somaliland, Deputy Governor Muruji Khader Barud and President of the Al-Rahma Charitable Association, Sheikh Abdullah Muhammad Ibrahim, a number of officials of the National Commission for Refugees and Displaced Persons in Somaliland and the Director of the King Salman Relief Center in Africa Youssef bin Bakhit Rahma. The project delivered 1,000 tanks with a capacity of 10,000 liters each with a total volume of 10,000,000 liters in the regions of Avdel, Sahel, Sol, Sinag, Tajtir and Murudji, as well as 40 fiberglass water tanks with a capacity of 6,000 liters, benefiting 88,000 human.

Muruji Deputy Governor Khader Barood expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Highness the Crown Prince – God bless them – for their continued support for their brothers in Somaliland in light of the dire conditions they are facing and the drought crisis that gripped the country.

For his part, Youssef bin Bakhit Rahma, director of the center’s Africa branch, explained that this project is part of the assistance program and humanitarian programs and projects of the center to alleviate the suffering of the brothers in Somaliland, noting that the water tanks will be transferred after the implementation of the project to water management resources to local governments to benefit from them in water storage for future beneficiaries.

This is part of the water and environmental sanitation projects implemented by the Kingdom through the King Salman Relief Center to improve the lives of those in need around the world.
