Wonder Woman is one of the strongest tanks in MultiVersus. Here are some strategies and combos to help maximize her potential.

MultiVersus' early access beta is in full swing with players flooding in using Twitch Drops and Founder's Packs. Many new players are gravitating toward Wonder Woman, as her good survivability and excellent utility make her a great pick against any opponent and with any teammate.

As a tank, Wonder Woman is meant to be difficult to ring out and provides her team with armor, utility and a couple of hard-hitting moves. Though her combos aren't as long as assassins or bruisers, Wonder Woman can still put out a respectable amount of damage. She has a unique passive called the bracer meter, which charges up when she blocks a projectile or gets hit while armored, powering up her Amazon Shout Down Attack. Here are some tips and strategies to maximize Wonder Woman's potential.

As a beginner-friendly character, Wonder Woman's grounded moves are pretty standard. Her chargeable Neutral Attack is a simple forward slash that has good knockback. Her chargeable Up Attack is a launcher and one of her best anti-air options. Her Side Attack is a three-part combo that can be canceled into other moves before the last hit. Her Down Attack, Amazon Shout, is very weak unless her bracer meter is full. With a full meter, the fully charged Down Attack has incredible knockback. Notably, none of her grounded attacks break armor.

Her air attacks can be very powerful if used correctly. Air Neutral Attack is a multi-hit move and her only armor-breaking attack, making it a highly useful move in tank matchups. Her air Side Attack is a quick and powerful slash, useful for horizontal edgeguarding. Her air Down Attack is a standard spike that requires strict timing to hit. Her air Up Attack has a bit of start-up but is one of her most powerful kill moves when ending a combo.

Wonder Woman's specials focus on excellent utility and protection. Her Neutral Special is a lasso that pulls enemies and allies hit toward her, and it's the same move while airborne. It has a short cooldown and can actually be aimed with the analog stick or movement keys. Her Up Special and air Up Special are a shield dash upward, which knocks enemies up and provides a platform for allies to stand on. If the special button is held, she will hold the shield above her and float slowly to the ground, perfect for long recoveries or air stalling.

Wonder Woman's grounded Side Special is an important move. It takes the form of a sideways shield dash that gives her and any ally hit armor, making it a great approach tool. If the special button is held, she holds the shield in front of her, blocking all incoming projectiles while being able to move. Her air Side Special is a flying punch with great knockback. Her Down Special and air Down Special are especially good in teams, as it lets her dash to her ally and cleanse them both of debuffs, also granting a shield to both of them. A shield is similar to armor except it blocks knockback as well as damage.

When used properly, Wonder Woman is a brick wall that stops opponents from getting the ring outs they need. In teams, she protects her allies with armor, shields and projectile destruction. She often charges in first with her armor and tankiness, making enemies focus on her while her teammate is free to attack. Building up her bracer meter by shielding projectiles and attacks is key -- a fully charged Down Attack with bracer meter is a great edgeguarding tool, as the hitbox is massive and can even reach under the stage, spiking enemies as they try to get back.

Using her Down Special to cleanse bombs and debuffs is important in matchups with Harley and Batman, as it can ruin their entire game plan. Against projectile spammers, her grounded Side Special is a good trump card. Air Side Special is one of her best horizontal kill moves, and using it for edgeguarding can be fruitful.

As a tank character, Wonder Woman only has a few combos. She can cancel the second hit of her Side Attack into Up Special, knocking enemies into the air. She can then jump cancel into another Up Special or use an air Up Attack, which is her premier kill option for high-damage opponents. Her lasso is great for starting combos, as it pulls opponents toward her. The hitstun from the lasso is pretty long, so it can be comboed into any aerial or even grounded Up Attack.

Using her air Down Attack on grounded targets can pop them up, allowing her to do her vertical Up Special and air Up Attack combos on unsuspecting opponents. In a rush, it can also be comboed into air Side Attack to set up a quick edgeguard opportunity.

Ideally, Wonder Woman is paired with characters who have several strong kill moves, as that's an area she's lacking in. Hard-hitters like Taz and Finn are perfect teammates, as they can easily finish off enemies, and they appreciate the armor, shields and projectile removal that Wonder Woman provides.

She also works well with other tanks and even support characters, becoming a juggernaut team that's nearly impossible to ring out. Pairing her with characters like Iron Giant grants the team a level of survivability that other players will be frustrated to deal with.
