Some time between 8am and 8:30am, on July 27th, 2022, a female youth was walking her dog on a residential street located near the intersection of Grange Street and Stevenson Street North in City of Guelph.

She was approached by an adult male who grabbed her by the collar of her shirt, pushed her into a nearby light post and punched her dog on the back just below its head. The male then fled the area on foot in an eastbound direction.

The male is described as: -20 years old -Black/dark brown should length hair -Droopy eyes -Unsteady on his feet -Wearing a hoodie with red/yellow horizontal stripes, a black hood and a small lion logo on the back, and purple shoes

Police searched the area but were unable to locate the male.

On the morning of July 27th, 2022, a citizen reported a driving complaint to the Guelph Police Service that occurred in a residential area located near the intersection of Silvercreek Parkway North and Speedvale Avenue West in the City of Guelph. During the incident, the adult male driver threatened to smash the citizen’s vehicle’s window and put sugar in its gas tank.

At 1:21pm, police located the male driving near the intersection of Willow Road and Silvercreek Parkway North, and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The male drove away at a high rate of speed, turning into a nearby commercial parking lot, and continuing to drive at excessive speeds while there was both heavy traffic and pedestrians walking through the parking lot. The male drove to a nearby residential neighbourhood, parked in front of a residence, and ran inside.

Police soon located the male and at 1:31pm, he was arrested.

Further investigation revealed that his driver’s license was suspended, he failed to appear in court on July 12th and 19th, and he was currently wanted on three separate warrants: #1 -Dangerous Operation -Flight From Peace Officer -Failure To Appear In Court #2 -Theft Of A Motor Vehicle -Possession Of Stolen Property Over $5,000 #3 -Drive While Under Suspension

A 32 year old Brampton male has been additionally charged with: -Utter Threats To Damage Property -Flight From Peace Officer -Dangerous Operation -Failure To Comply With Undertaking x2 -Failure To Appear In Court x2 -Driving While Under Suspension

He was transported to the Guelph Police Service station pending a bail hearing on July 28th.

On July 27th, 2022, at 9:13am, it was reported to the Guelph Police Service that an adult male had started a small fire in a wooded area located near the intersection of Dawson Road and Woodlawn Road West in the City of Guelph.

Police soon located the male who admitted that he had lit a few sticks on fire.

Further investigation revealed that he failed to attend court in regards to the following charges: -Breach Probation -Fail To Attend Court -Fail To Comply With Release Order -Fail To Comply With Undertaking

At 9:29am, the male was arrested.

A 59 year old Guelph male has been additionally charged with Fail To Attend Court.

He was transported to the Guelph Police Service station pending a bail hearing.

He was subsequently released and will appear in court on August 26th.

On July 27th, 2022, at 3:50pm, an adult female attended to the Guelph Police Service station located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph.

Further investigation revealed that she had failed to attend court in regards to the following charges: -Operation Of A Conveyance – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus -Fail To Attend Court -Fail To Re-Attend Court

A 26 year old Guelph female has been additionally charged with Fail To Re-Attend Court.

She was held in custody pending a bail hearing on July 28th.

Over the past 24 hours the Guelph Police Service received reports of five driving complaints and four motor vehicle collisions occurring throughout the City of Guelph.

The Guelph Police Service would like to encourage the public to slow down and follow the rules of the road to help ensure everyone arrives to their destination safely.
